Device warns you if you’re boring or irritating

One of the problems facing people with autism is an inability to pick up on social cues. A device called the Emotional Social Intelligent Prosthetic (ESP) is under development at the MIT Media Lab that will alert its user if the person they are talking to starts showing signs of getting bored or annoyed.

People with autism may not be the only ones who could find the device helpful. Being able to quickly “read” an audience’s emotional state would be useful to anyone who does public speaking. (Via New Scientist)
