We decided to get local cellphone numbers before the new school year starts (Goodbye Area Code 781). We also upgraded both of our phones to the Treo 755p. It’s a nice improvement over my Treo 650: EVDO. More memory. Much better bluetooth support. Nothing revolutionary but a nicer device.
This is my fourth Treo phone and seventh Palm/Handspring device. And possibly my last unless Palm starts innovating again. The 755p is lighter and slightly smaller than the 650 but still a bit thick compared to many competitors. PalmOS has small incremental improvements but is mostly unchanged in years.
Why didn’t I go for something more innovative such as the iPhone? Clearly the iPhone is cooler but currently doesn’t do everything my Treo does. I’ll wait a generation or two. Plus I got a good deal on the Treos. The two phones cost quite a bit less than one iPhone.
